We are one day away from having our field area transformed into a Pumpkin Patch for the day! Please remember to send a bag to school. It will be used to transport your child’s pumpkin home.
We wish to thank the Revitt family for organizing this wonderful event! We also extend our gratitude to CUPE 23 (Burnaby Civic Employees Union) and CUPE 379 (Burnaby Schools Support Staff) for their generous support of our annual Pumpkin Patch!
See you at the Patch tomorrow!

Join us and schools all over the province as we Drop Everything and Read on Monday. Our school will be reading together school wide in our classrooms, in the hallways, in the pods, anywhere we can right after lunch.
We challenge everyone to set aside part of your day to join us and read. Reading is a beautiful thing!
Don’t forget your PJs!

162 Paralympians marched into Rio’s Maracana Stadium for the 2016 Paralympics knowing that interest in the competition and their events would inspire millions of Canadians.
This morning at South Slope/BCSD, we were fortunate to have 2 Paralympians visit our school to share their amazing stories of courage, strength and athleticism. Curtis Thom, a wheelchair sports athlete and nephew of South Slope teacher, Theresa Sian, was one of the athletes. He represented Canada in the 800 metre, and 4 x 100 metre men’s relay events in Rio while Tessa Popoff, a Langley native, represented Canada as a sitting volleyball player.
